Help, glossary, FAQ and fees

The reference page: how a first order runs, where to raise a problem, the words you will meet, and what a parcel costs.

How to use Oopbuy, step by step

Start with a listing and chosen variant, then pay the item and domestic delivery. Inspect warehouse photos before deciding to keep or return. Select the stored items for a parcel, choose a suitable line, then pay international freight and any packed-cost adjustment. The complete illustrated guide follows the official 11-step sequence.

When everything you want has arrived, submit the parcel, choose a line and decide about protection. Then track it, and check the box before you sign. If you are new, the Oopbuy sign-up page is where it starts.

Where to raise a problem

For an order or parcel problem, use the account’s after-sales control or online customer service. The official contact page checked on 18 October 2026 lists [email protected]. Include the order/parcel reference, selected variant, payment or delivery date, the problem and clear evidence. Never send account passwords or payment-card details.

For claims, say which limit you are inside, and quote it: 'within 72 hours of signing', for example. It saves a round of messages and makes the date part of the record.

Glossary of claim terms

A few words recur. QC is the warehouse's quality check and its photos. GL and RL, green light and red light, are shoppers' shorthand for accepting an item after QC or rejecting it. Stocked in is the status that starts the 120-hour return window. Signed for is your delivery, the moment three more clocks start.

GL and RL are community shorthand, not official approval or refund decisions. A waybill identifies a shipment. Forwarding means sending an externally purchased item through an agent. Out for delivery normally means a carrier has assigned the parcel for delivery; a failed attempt should have its own tracking event.

Exchange rate: the fixed divisor in Oopbuy's price table

The estimator prints every line in yuan and in dollars, and the dollar figure is the yuan divided by one fixed number. On 10 October 2026 that divisor was 5.9756 for every line in the table. It is an internal rate, not the market rate of the day, so the dollar price carries whatever gap exists between the two.

A historical October 2026 research sample estimated a 12.2% all-in conversion difference; it is not a current fee or a GBP quote. The practical check is the GBP actually charged by your bank divided by the CNY credited to your account. Compare that with the same-time market reference, allowing for separate provider fees. Work through a GBP example.

Cost breakdown for one UK parcel

Oopbuy's own breakdown is short. You pay the item price plus domestic delivery to the warehouse, international shipping from the estimator, and a customs declaration fee, generally ¥8 per parcel depending on the line. There is no agent service fee. Optional services cost extra: a parcel photo 5 RMB, a detailed photo 1 RMB each, protection plans priced at submission.

Top-ups carry their own fees. The Top up page puts PayPal at 4.5% plus US$0.30, while an FAQ still says about 3.7% plus US$0.30. Wise accepts GBP among other currencies.

FAQ

How long do I have to report a missing item?

Seventy-two hours after signing for customer service, and two working days for unseen damage through the post office. Act on whichever closes first; the calendar works it out.

Is the 7-day limit the one that matters?

The general compensation article mentions seven days after signing, but shorter reporting or evidence requirements can apply. Confirm your case promptly with support.

When does Oopbuy start counting for compensation?

From when the parcel is sent from the warehouse, according to the compensation page.

Can I claim if the parcel was left with a neighbour and disappeared?

Oopbuy excludes parcels stolen or missing after delivery. A neighbour or safe-place delivery counts as delivered.

Does protection cover fragile items that break?

The receiving notes say fragile items are covered for loss, not damage, whatever the packaging.

What happens if I do not pay a UK customs bill?

GOV.UK says the carrier normally holds the parcel for about three weeks, then returns it. Oopbuy's plans exclude delays and seizures caused by not paying.

Is there a Trustpilot rating for Oopbuy?

No current Trustpilot rating is asserted here. Check the date, verification and incentives behind individual reviews rather than treating a platform score as proof of your likely outcome.

Where are the frequently asked questions about returns?

On the warehouse clocks page, with the 120-hour window.

When a step fails, send the information that resolves it

  • Link will not load: provide the original URL and the variant you need; wait for a matching order summary.
  • Payment debited but no balance: keep the provider reference and timestamp; ask support to trace it before paying again.
  • Seller delay: ask whether it was purchased and whether cancellation is still possible.
  • QC mismatch: attach the order option and the specific photo showing the mismatch.
  • Tracking or delivery issue: attach parcel number, carrier reference, latest event and packaging/evidence photos.

Ask for the next action and required documents, then retain the response. A public community reply cannot authorise a refund.
